What this US calculator includes

It applies 2026 federal income-tax brackets and the standard deduction for your selected filing status. It also estimates employee FICA taxes: Social Security, Medicare and, where applicable, Additional Medicare.

What is not included yet

You can select any state. The calculator explicitly includes the states with no individual income tax on wages and New York State's 2026 annual withholding method. Other states remain a federal/FICA baseline until their verified state rules are added. It never guesses a state rate. The result also excludes tax credits, dependants, 401(k) and health-plan deductions, bonuses and the withholding choices on your Form W-4. New York City and Yonkers taxes are not included.

How to use the estimate

Use it as a fast federal baseline when comparing a salary or job offer. For a closer payslip estimate, subtract the deductions specific to your state, city and benefits.

Rates and thresholds are based on IRS guidance for federal income-tax withholding and Social Security and Medicare withholding, plus New York's 2026 withholding tables.
